Wave Solder Operator:

Full Time, Permanent Position

Required Qualifications:

Required Capabilities:

  • Able to read and understand detailed process requirements, bill of materials, work instructions and schematics
  • Able to transfer product from Wave process through other production divisions and meet schedule commitments
  • Run PCBAs through Wave Solder machine daily according to schedule
  • Perform machine set-up and clean-up according to documented procedures and processes
  • Document and maintain quality records
  • Perform daily maintenance as required to operate the machine in an efficient manner

Required Capabilities:
- Familiarity with all aspects of Surface Mount Technology Field - Operation of SMT assembly equipment including Screen Printer, Glue Dispenser, Pick and Place Machines (specifically Mydata, Universal and JUKI), and Reflow Oven
- Ability to perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components
- Interpret IPC-A-610 standards
- Knowledge of ESD, ISO, WHMIS standards

QC Technician - Full Time/Permanent Position

Embedded Software Engineer DEPARTMENT

TEAM: Hardware Systems

The Embedded Software Engineer is part of the Hardware Systems Group in the Engineering Department. Reporting to the Director of Hardware Systems, this position is responsible for designing, coding, testing and validating embedded SW (both RTOS and embedded Linux environments) of our hardware products.
· Developing embedded software designs for in-vehicle location device product line working in multiple          OS platforms.
· Define and create product SW specifications including system designs, feature descriptions and application notes of functional blocks.
· Creating and executing software test plans.
· Maintaining a complex and highly configurable product while striving to simplify installation activities and improve end user experiences.
· Product support and liaison with customer service.
· Staying abreast of latest technical information and sharing with team members.
· This position interfaces closely with internal Software and Hardware Engineering staff as well as QA, and Customer Support staff.

· Greater than 7 years of embedded software development experience/knowledge, including:
- Working experience with embedded Linux or Android. Either application or kernel level.
- Familiarity with real time operating systems and multi-threaded application development.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Lua, TCL or Bash.
- Utilizing various communications stacks and protocols
- A strong background programming with C and C++ in a resource constrained environment
- Working experience in different embedded software frameworks
- Knowledge with creating board support packages to bring up new hardware devices.
- Good working knowledge of revision control system like SVN and GiT
- Working experience in an Agile environment utilizing Jira with TDD development practices.
· Experience creating, writing and executing test plans/cases.
· Knowledge of wireless systems including GPS, 3G/LTE Radio, Bluetooth and WiFi.
· Familiarity designing SW in an ARM based platforms for embedded HW designs utilizing RTOS (free RTOS) and Linux/Android.
· Excellent team player with great communication skills (written, and verbal).
· Awareness with vehicle bus protocols (J1979, J1939 and similar) an asset.
· Minimum Bachelors Electronics or Mechanical Engineering degree or Diploma of Technology or equivalent in, or applicable scientific discipline is required.

Volunteer Posting

Nanobiophotonics and Biomedical Center at MIS Electronics is a newly established center where it aims to carry out high standard research, design and development of healthcare-related tools and equipment.

As it is in its infancy stage, it requires two enthusiastic and motivated volunteers to join the center to help with its objectives during the preliminary development of the Center. This stage is predicted to last about 6 months.

At the secondary stage, those volunteers that have been successful in their work at the center will be screened for each project and will have the opportunity to be hired to play an active role specific to each project at the Center.


Job No. (1): Chemical and Biomaterial Lab Technician

Task responsibilities:
To prepare list of required tools & equipment
To set up the lab and supervise the maintenance
To carry out the tasks as required

Fields of interests and skills:
Cell culture, Cell analysis, Synthesis of nanomaterials, Biosensors, Immunoassay, Antibody immobilization, and Microscopy.

BSc. degree in Biology, Biochemistry.

At least 2-3 years of experience.
